Hi, I tutor IB Physics and I’m especially good with students who say they “get it in class” but lose marks on exam questions. I like using sketches, units and quick checks before going into calculations. Topic 4 waves and electricity are my favourites to teach. For IA work, I’ll push you to keep the experiment realistic and the analysis clean. Lessons are relaxed, but I will ask you to explain each step back to me.

I’ve worked with IB Physics students for 8 years, mainly at HL, and I know how quickly mechanics and fields can become messy if the basics are shaky. My lessons usually start with the student’s own class notes or past paper attempts, then we fix the exact gaps. I also help with IA research questions, uncertainty, graphing and making the write-up sound like Physics rather than waffle. I’m particularly strict on units and assumptions.

I teach IB Physics full time and have supported both SL and HL students through the newer syllabus. I tend to be direct: we look at the mark scheme, identify what the examiner wanted, then practise writing answers that actually earn marks. I’m careful with data-based questions, option-style thinking and the IA sections where students often overcomplicate things. I also set short follow-up tasks after most sessions.

I’m a Physics tutor with a research background, but I keep lessons very practical. Most of my IB students come to me for problem-solving practice before mocks or because their IA has gone a bit off track. I spend a lot of time on forces, circular motion and energy because small errors there keep coming back later. I’m calm, clear and fairly no-nonsense, and I prefer working from real exam questions rather than long slides.

I’ve been tutoring IB Physics online for several years after working as a lab demonstrator during my postgraduate study. My IB Physics lessons are usually built around past papers, because that is where the real issues show up. I’ve helped students move from vague explanations to properly structured answers, especially in thermal physics, electromagnetism and quantum topics. I’m friendly, but I do expect students to try questions between sessions so we can use lesson time properly. I also give blunt feedback on IA drafts when needed.
